Paris is divided into 20 arrondissements, numbered in a spiral from the Louvre. The 1st to 8th cover the historic centre, where most of the grand restaurants are. Outside the city, the Île-de-France region has excellent tables in Versailles, Fontainebleau and the towns along the Seine.
