In Paris, the grandest hotels have long competed through their kitchens. Of the restaurants in our selection, fifteen with MICHELIN Stars sit inside a luxury hotel, and four of them hold three stars. Here is how they compare, and how to choose between a grand dinner and a more relaxed lunch.

The three-star dining rooms

Four hotels hold the highest distinction. At the Four Seasons George V, Le Cinq offers a vast grey-and-gold room a few steps from the Champs-Élysées. At Le Bristol, Épicure looks onto a French garden, something almost unheard of in the 8th arrondissement. By the Pont Neuf, Arnaud Donckele builds every course at Plénitude around a sauce. And at La Réserve, near the Élysée, Le Gabriel seats only a few tables, as if in a private salon.

One hotel, several tables

Some hotels run more than one starred kitchen. The George V counts three: Le Cinq, L'Orangerie under its glass roof, and the Italian Le George. Cheval Blanc, in the former Samaritaine, adds the omakase counter Hakuba, awarded a second star in 2026, and Le Tout-Paris on its seventh floor. Le Bristol also has 114 Faubourg, a brasserie with one star.

Gilded rooms and rooftops

For a sense of occasion, the Meurice's dining room, modelled on Versailles, faces the Tuileries. The Ritz hides Espadon off the Place Vendôme, and the Plaza Athénée serves the classics at La Grande Table. Higher up, L'Oiseau Blanc sits on the roof of The Peninsula, facing the Eiffel Tower.

Smaller budgets, same address

A hotel restaurant is not always a tasting menu. Il Carpaccio at Le Royal Monceau and Pur' at the Park Hyatt are quieter one-star rooms, while 114 Faubourg and Le Tout-Paris work as upmarket brasseries.

Before you book

  • Lunch menus are usually the gentlest way into these houses.
  • A jacket is welcome in the grand dining rooms, even when not required.
  • Hotel guests often get priority: book several weeks ahead for dinner.
